At times it may be necessary to conduct an internal examination as part of your consultation. If it makes you feel more comfortable, patients are welcome to bring a chaperone such as a friend or family member to be present during intimate exams.
Additionally, from time-to-time patients may be required to have blood tests; be referred for further investigations such as a pelvic ultrasound; or be referred to specialists such as gynaecologists, endocrinologists, or pelvic health physiotherapists.
If this is needed, your doctor will fully explain the procedure and reasons during the course of your consultation.
